SAGE offers acupuncture, herbal support, and food therapy in an integrative blending of Eastern and Western veterinary medicine. Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) offers the benefit of gentle “balancing” techniques that have been used for thousands of years. By integrating TCVM with a Western basis, our patients benefit from modern diagnostics and therapy, along with ancient, time-tested techniques.
Acupuncture and herbal therapy have been shown to be beneficial in many situations, including pain management, neuromuscular disease, asthma treatment, chemotherapy side effects (nausea, anorexia), endocrine disease, and other systemic disorders.
Laser therapy is another integrative treatment option used at SAGE in both the Integrative Medicine and Physical Rehabilitation departments. Laser beams send warm, penetrating light into the tissues to decrease inflammation and pain. These treatments can be used as needle-free acupuncture for pets who won’t tolerate needles, or to complement acupuncture and other therapies.
Dr. Wallace in Concord also offers chiropractic treatment for our athletes, injured or aging pets.
