Dr. Werum was raised in Stuttgart, Germany. She completed her undergraduate degree in biology at Occidental College in Los Angeles. Dr. Werum worked as a veterinary assistant before pursuing her veterinary degree at the University of California, Davis. 

After veterinary school, she relocated to San Francisco for a 1-year rotating specialty/emergency internship at SAGE San Francisco. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Werum enjoys exploring the area, playing water polo, and trying new food.
