Dr. Becker is a California native, raised in Los Angeles, who now calls the Bay Area home. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Animal Biology and his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis. He completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at VCA San Francisco Veterinary Specialists (now SAGE San Francisco), followed by a surgical internship at Guardian Veterinary Specialists in New York. During this time, he developed a strong interest in orthopedics and minimally invasive surgery, co-authoring a book chapter on single-port techniques during his training.

He then spent a year practicing Emergency Medicine in the East Bay before completing a surgical residency at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates, just outside of Philadelphia. His professional interests include orthopedics with an emphasis on knee injuries, musculoskeletal trauma, and fracture repair; minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic spays, gastropexies, and more advanced procedures; emergency surgery; soft tissue reconstruction; cardiothoracic procedures; and surgical oncology. He has also published original research on TPLO incision site healing in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Becker has been involved in veterinary medicine since the age of 14. Growing up surrounded by animals fostered his appreciation for the human–animal bond and the privilege of caring for pets. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his wife, two sons, and their black cat, as well as training in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or working on hands-on projects at home.
