Dr. Chelsea Tyler grew up in Bernardston, MA. She played volleyball and obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. Dr. Tyler always loved animals growing up, but didn’t decide to pursue veterinary medicine until after undergrad when her family dog became sick and required intensive care. She quit her job at a pharmaceutical company to work as a veterinary assistant at a local emergency clinic before being accepted to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she obtained her veterinary degree in 2021. After graduating, she completed a four-month emergency internship at Colorado State University before moving to New York City for a one-year general internship at the Animal Medical Center. She then completed a specialty surgical internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County in San Diego before returning to the Animal Medical Center to complete her surgical residency.
Dr. Tyler loves all aspects of veterinary surgery, but her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, particularly cardiothoracic procedures, hepatobiliary surgery, wound management, minimally invasive surgery, and surgical oncology. She also enjoys orthopedics, specifically fracture repair.
In her spare time, Dr. Tyler enjoys playing volleyball, going to music festivals, exploring different restaurants, and spending time with her partner and their two cats, Missy and Pogo, and their dog, Lucy.
