Dr. Christen Montesanto is a native New Yorker who fell in love with the California way of life during her specialty internship in San Diego. From a young age, her compassionate spirit naturally drew her to animals, earning her the affectionate nickname “Doctor Dolittle” from friends and family.
Dr. Montesanto’s interest in oncology first developed in high school, when her father was diagnosed with cancer and underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy, ultimately achieving remission. This personal experience with cancer continues to shape the way she approaches her patients and their families today. She strives to be a supportive and compassionate resource for her clients while developing individualized treatment plans that combine high-quality medical care with a strong emphasis on each patient’s comfort and quality of life.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Montesanto enjoys spending time with her partner, Bryan, and their four fur babies: miniature long-haired dachshunds Remington and Molly, and cats Benji and Apollo. She also enjoys cooking, baking—especially sourdough—reading, hiking, and unwinding with a good reality TV show.
