Anesthesiology

We realize that having a pet undergo general anesthesia can be a stressful experience for a pet owner, and in some cases, for pets.

This service is offered in our Campbell, Concord, Dublin, and Redwood City locations.

Overview

Our board-certified anesthesiologist’s are experts in anesthetic management and minimizing risk—and stress—for your pet.

Administering anesthesia is a process that begins with careful planning and consideration of what a patient will need before, during, and after surgery to manage pain. At SAGE, a pet’s experience with anesthesia is similar to what their owner would experience in a human hospital. Here, our anesthesiologists work with specialists and technicians throughout a pet’s hospitalization to ensure the anesthesia and pain management plan is tailored to their specific health issues.

Like all of our specialists, the anesthesiology team continues to seek advanced training on new protocols and trends. Our anesthesia team is actively involved in sharing new information with SAGE veterinarians and nursing staff, and are available to advise referring veterinarians on pain management, anti-anxiety medications, sedation, pre-anesthetic testing and more, prior to the pet’s arrival at SAGE.
