Zachary Stephens

Zachary joined SAGE Centers in October 2017. He started as an Assistant Hospital Manager at SAGE Campbell, where he provided additional leadership and worked with Client Services Coordinators on a major change initiative—moving from our previous practice management system to our current one. SAGE leaders were impressed by the way Zachary jumped in and led large projects. In May 2018, they selected him to manage SAGE Redwood City.

As Hospital Manager, Zachary manages and consistently looks for ways to improve the operations of a high case load, 24/7 specialty and emergency veterinary hospital. He works with his team of 20 doctors, as well as the Medical Director and department leads, to ensure staffing levels are appropriate to meet the needs of our patients. He is also responsible for selecting, hiring, training and developing clinical and client service support.

Zachary started his career in the Hospitality industry. He spent a total of 12 years with Caesars Entertainment, Starwood and Marriott International, which took him from Las Vegas to San Francisco. He made the switch to SAGE and veterinary care to satisfy two passions: his love of animals and operations. SAGE looks to Zachary, with his extensive knowledge of operations and customer service, to implement projects across the organization that create the best possible experience for patients and clients.

When he’s not at work, Zachary enjoys spending time with family and getting outdoors to hike, snowboard, fish, camp, and play sports. He has a 10-year-old Boston terrier and a 17-year-old Chihuahua at home.
