Valery Scharf, DVM, MS, DACVS

Dr. Scharf earned her veterinary degree from Texas A&M University prior to completing a rotating internship at The Ohio State University and a surgical residency at the University of Florida. She has served as faculty at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine for seven years where she is a member of the Soft Tissue and Surgical Oncology Service and teaches veterinary students, interns, and residents.
Her research interests include minimally invasive surgery, spontaneous pneumothorax, and surgical education.
Dr. Scharf is pretty much up for anything soft tissue (including amputations). She also likes to perform emergency surgeries and minimally invasive (lap spays, gastropexies, etc. and thoracoscopy). Dr. Scharf considers Thoracic surgery of any kind her favorite to do.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, backpacking, and attempting DIY projects.
