I started dreaming of becoming a veterinarian when I was 6 years old and was fortunate that my dream came true.  Although the desire to help and protect animals was the original reason why I chose this profession, I discovered that I also enjoyed working with and educating the humans who accompanied their beloved pets.  I specialized in cardiology because the heart is a fascinating organ.  I admire how hard it works to keep the entire body alive!
