Dr. Kelly Fishman, DVM, CVA is part of the Redwood City Physical Rehabilitation team. Kelly has a background in Environmental Science and law. She eventually embraced a very new career in the veterinary field, working for a small East Bay clinic, and eventually landed at UC San Francisco, where she worked as a neurosurgery research associate and veterinary nurse. Kelly earned her DVM at Ross University in St. Kitts, WI. She got involved in Physical Rehabilitation from the pain management perspective and completed her Integrative Medicine internship at the University of Florida. While at the University of Florida, she developed an interest in Chinese herbs and how they can be used in veterinary care.
Kelly’s approach is a blend of Western and Eastern veterinary treatments. She has focused her Physical Rehabilitation work on orthopedic, neurologic and post-surgery cases and using manual therapy techniques to treat pets. She is interested in expanding her pain management offerings to include joint injections such as Platelet-Rich Plasma treatments and other modalities.
Kelly is certified in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Veterinary Acupuncture, and Veterinary Herbal Medicine. Her Veterinary Herbal Medicine certification focuses on gastrointestinal, respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, and geriatric medicine.
Kelly’s hobbies include yoga and cooking. She has three kitties and a dog that she adopted while in St. Kitts. She loves San Francisco and the Bay Area and is happy to be back!
