Dear SAGE friends:
It’s November, and – during normal times – many of us would be planning a large meal with friends and family. Although November looks different to us in 2020, we still have many things to appreciate.
With veterinary hospitals across the nation having record numbers of patients, all of us are thankful that SAGE hospitals were able to remain open during the pandemic. Additionally, while many of our employees have had to face life changes due to family schedule changes, we are so thankful that pet owners and surrounding referring veterinarians have been appreciative and understanding of the demands we have faced in life and at SAGE.
Some of us have faced losses this year, which (in conjunction with the pandemic) have made it difficult to process, yet, are easier to process with each other. While one of my daughters lamented that she doesn’t get to see her friends anymore, another daughter pointed out that it’s great they have each other (and the pets!) to play with at home. My father died unexpectedly right before the shut down; while I have been grieving his loss daily, my mom indicated that it’s great we live across the street from each other to share our good memories. During these times, I’m thankful for those around me so that we can get through this together.
This year, and every year, I thank all of you for appreciating each other and for lifting each other up during hard times. I am incredibly grateful for all of you!
