SAGE Veterinary Centers expands doctor‐led, medicine‐first care model through new partnership with Yakima Pet Emergency Service.
SAGE Veterinary Centers (“SAGE”), the leading specialty and emergency veterinary organization on the West Coast, is pleased to announce it has expanded outside California and into the Pacific Northwest.  SAGE has added another partner location with Yakima Pet Emergency Service, the top veterinary ER hospital in Yakima, Washington, to grow service offerings and provide patients with the best comprehensive veterinary emergency medical care possible.
Yakima Pet Emergency Service began serving the greater Yakima region in September of 2005. Since that time, they have evolved from a weekend emergency clinic, to a complete trauma, emergency surgery and critical care hospital for small animals, operating seven days a week.
“Yakima Pet Emergency is thrilled to be joining the SAGE Veterinary Centers team!  Over the past decade, my staff and I have striven to elevate and expand the range of veterinary care available in the central Washington region.  This partnership, over the coming years, will allow the hospital to grow with Yakima into a much needed full-fledged referral veterinary center.  I look forward to this new chapter for Yakima Pet Emergency,” said Dr. Kelly O’Malley, owner and Hospital Director at Yakima Pet Emergency Service.
“We are beyond excited to partner with the incredible team at Yakima Pet Emergency Service. Dr. O’Malley and her team of gifted doctors are setting a high standard of care in their region, one that resonates with SAGE’s overall mission.  This partnership is SAGE’s first venture into Washington state, a key geography in our expansion into the western United States,” said Gina Del Vecchio, SAGE Chief Executive Officer.
Wendi Velando Rankin, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Oncology), SAGE’s Chief Medical Officer, stated “Yakima Pet Emergency Service provides exceptional medical care to the Yakima community and we’re honored that they have decided to join SAGE to continue our outstanding patient care across the West Coast.”
