SAGE Veterinary Centers Expands Comprehensive Care to Include In- Home Euthanasia and Hospice Care
Concord, Calif. (June 22, 2021) – SAGE Veterinary Centers are pleased to announce they have added an additional practice to their community of hospitals through a new partnership with Restful Paws. Restful Paws expands SAGE Veterinary Centers to nine partner practices, offering a full range of 13 veterinary specialties.
The doctors at Restful Paws specialize in in-home euthanasia for cats and dogs that help pet parents prepare for the procedure and cope with the grieving process. The compassionate and skilled Restful Paws veterinarians also advise on and support palliative and hospice care. They understand that this process is a difficult and emotional time for the families. Restful Paws currently serves the entire San Francisco Peninsula, East Bay, South Bay areas, and will expand to other geographies in which SAGE partners provide veterinary care.
“In-home euthanasia and hospice are not just for convenience. It’s to allow clients to be in the comfort of their home, in a private place, and offers a peaceful passing for their pets,” says Founder, Dr. Louise Rathjen. “The most difficult question for pet parents is, “when is it time to say goodbye?” That is where we can help pet parents through this difficult time and discuss options for their pet.”
“Partnering with Restful Paws expands our continuum of comprehensive and compassionate care for pets with services for in home end-of-life care. We are honored that the Restful Paws team has chosen SAGE as their partner in this next chapter of their incredible service offering” says Gina Del Vecchio, SAGE Chief Executive Officer. “This loving option compliments our services and provides a caring way for our families to say goodbye and we could not be more thrilled to have the leadership of Dr. Rathjen as our head of our End-of-Life & Hospice division.”
Restful Paws will operate under the SAGE umbrella as a mobile service and continue to provide animal hospice care and in-home euthanasia services for Bay Area pet families.
“Our team is excited for this new partnership with SAGE; their values of compassionate pet care align with ours. We are excited to help expand SAGE’s services to include pet hospice and in-home pet euthanasia and help more people and their pets,” says Dr. Louise Rathjen.
