Dear Pet Parents,
Last night, officials in six Bay Area counties, Marin, Contra Costa, Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and San Francisco, issued a shelter in place order for residents in an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 disease. The mandate directs people to stay inside their homes and, to the extent possible, avoid contact with others for the next three weeks.
This order makes an exception for essential services, including veterinary care. SAGE Veterinary Center
hospitals located in Campbell, Concord, Dublin and Redwood City remain open 24/7 to care for patients. Adobe Animal Hospital
, Los Altos is open during their normal business hours and open 24 hours for emergencies. Adobe’s Los Gatos facility is closed but will be open for prescription refills and food sales through Friday, March 20. Both Veterinary Vision
locations in San Francisco and San Carlos are open with regular hours at this time.
Our purpose and commitment are to continue to provide essential specialty, urgent and emergency veterinary care while providing the safest environment necessary for our team members, pet parents, and community.
To comply with the shelter in place ordinance, we will be adjusting our schedules as necessary. While we do not expect meaningful changes or disruptions to our services at this time, you may want to call in advance to confirm your appointment or to discuss your pet’s needs with your SAGE, Adobe or Veterinary Vision doctor or have your primary veterinarian call our hospital to discuss your pet’s needs.
Additionally, in consideration of your personal health and that of our staff, for scheduled appointments and emergency situations, we are screening our clients prior to entering the building as a precaution to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. If you:
– Are experiencing any signs of illness (fever/chills, shortness of breath, cough, runny nose, sneezing);
– Have been in contact with anyone that has been exposed to COVID-19 in the past 14 days, or;
– Are caring for someone who has been ill in the past 14 days;
You will need to have a healthy friend/relative bring your pet in, and the doctor/veterinary technician team will call you at the appointment. If you cannot find anyone to bring your pet in for you, we will need to reschedule the appointment to a later date.
If your pet is in an emergent situation and you cannot find anyone to bring your pet in, then please call us from your vehicle when you arrive and do not enter the building. If you are asked by our teams to wait in your vehicle to limit the number of people in our waiting rooms to maintain “social distance”, please stay in your vehicle. We also recommend that pet parents not visit their pets while hospitalized at this time unless for euthanasia support. A euthanasia appointment will be limited to one family member at a time and held in an exam room.
If you are a current client at Adobe and your pet has had their yearly exam, we encourage you to take advantage of Adobe’s video visits. If you have questions, please call the number provided to you to get updates.
All of us within the SAGE community of hospitals remain focused on improving the lives of pets and their people – 24/7/365 – we are here when you need us and no less so in these unprecedented times.
Thank you in advance for your understanding to ensure the safety of you, our team members, and our community. If you have any questions regarding this update, please contact us via email firstname.lastname@example.org
