Dr. Chuck Walls is a graduate of Cal Poly – Pomona, where he earned a BS in Biology. After receiving his DVM from UC Davis (1991), Dr. Walls completed a small animal medical and surgical internship at the Animal Medical Center in NYC, then returned to Davis for his residency in small animal surgery (1995). Dr. Walls became a board certified surgeon in 1997 and a Fellow of the Sliding Humeral Osteotomy Society in 2009. He has been an instructor for the canine unicompartimental elbow arthroplasty “CUE” procedure since 2013.
Dr. Walls currently serves as one of the managing partners of SAGE, as well as the president of AVORE (American Veterinary Orthopedic Research and Education), where he has been a member since 1995. He is a national and international speaker on advanced orthopedic topics. Dr. Walls particularly enjoys the challenges of advanced orthopedics, including total joint replacement (hip and elbow), angular limb deformities, small joint arthroscopy, performance animal/sports medicine, and stem cell therapies.
When not practicing, Chuck is the immensely proud dad of two teenage girls and caregiver to three dogs, two cats, one horse, and multiple fish. When not practicing, he enjoys mountain biking, long distance motorcycle touring, and snow skiing. He also knows his way around the kitchen — so says his “better half,” Dr. Micki McCabe, SAGE internist and integrative medicine specialist.
