Dr. Abbie Whitehead is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to integrative medicine, Dr. Whitehead has experience in equine medicine, shelter medicine, and general practice veterinary care. Dr. Whitehead also served 10 years in the U.S. Army, where she managed several branch offices providing health care to service members’ pets and military working dogs, horses and dolphins. In 1998, Dr. Whitehead received a Master’s degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. That same year, she received board certification from the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine.

Dr. Whitehead’s professional interests include Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), animal chiropractic, food therapy, and therapy laser. She was certified by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association in 2012. She has also been certified in Tui-na, traditional Chinese massage therapy.

When she’s not in the hospital, Dr. Whitehead enjoys cooking and gardening with native plants. Her family includes two horses, a dog, and a senior three-legged cat.
